Fresh Cut: Now on Brightcove

There’s no shortage of ways to distribute videos over the web, and that’s a problem.
It makes sense that attracting attention requires connecting with a large audience, and the 20 top video sharing sites collectively do pretty well when it comes to large audiences. (I mean, this video has been viewed 82,000 times. 82,000.)
But rather than post our stuff on every single video sharing and Digg-like site on the Internet, I believe there’s a huge advantage in consolidating the distribution of content. Call it a “strength in (fewer) numbers.” Regardless, it’s a concept that I hope other web video folks disagree with, if only so that I get more colorful e-mails on these grey Chicago afternoons.
While the videos on this site are hosted by Blip.tv, we’re now also on Brightcove and will soon be posting with one of the larger video sharing sites (YouTube or Vimeo).
And lastly, as always, I’m awaiting your angry e-mails.
